Extinction Rebellion has said 50,000 people are expected to descend on Westminster this weekend for four days of protest it has branded "The Big One".

Today saw groups of demonstrators chant and dance outside government departments as they called for more action to tackle the climate crisis.

Weird how bourgeois middle class protests get air time, while any working class protests are labeled far right...

This entire 'movement' is so obviously bought and paid for, how do the public not see this?

But we need oil for the 250 litres/hour ( mining trucks ) typical excavator requires roughly 20, 000 liters of fuel per day. Plus the trucks to transport it, the coal to smelt it and on and on for your clean solar panels and batteries.

Try reporting real news, instead of giving these fools airtime

It's only a matter of time before some of these people are badly hurt by frustrated members of the public.

We can expect the authorities to aid them and allow them to do what they want, every institution in the country to sympathise with them, and all mainstream media outlets to cover it incessantly while affording opposing arguments little air time.
Almost as if it were planned that way.

ear Chris Packham,

How do we transition to renewables?
How will it be achieved?
In what year will it be achieved?

What is the requirement?
How many wind turbines?
How many solar panels?
How many hydro dams?
How many whatever?
Where will it all be?
When will it be ready?

Keep in mind that this must be done worldwide. Also keep in mind that overall energy consumption in 2050 will be 50% more than it was in 2020.

What happens when there’s no wind?
What happens when it’s too windy?
What happens when there’s no sun?

If batteries are the solution-
What capacity is needed ?
How many are needed?
Where will they be?
When will they be installed?

If pumped hydro is the solution-
What capacity is needed ?
How many are needed?
Where will they be?
When will they be installed?

Also to be kept in mind -
Renewables currently provide 10% of energy. (It’s been that way for years.)
Hydro is 7%.
Solar is 1%.
Wind is 1%.
Others is 1%.
Nuclear is 5%.
Fossil fuels is 85%.

packham in drreamland how can the solve it XR? brian eno what is he going to do to save the planet ? think people who dont go to XR protest dont care in fact they dont see the point of it

Why does it seem like people are more worried about the climate change than a nuclear winter? Why is no one protesting the fact that there’s no attempt to de escalate in Ukraine, quite the contrary - as stated by Stoltenberg 24 hrs ago?
