I've had my Torqeedo 1003s since the end of the 2013 season. I like the motor. I hope it lasts a while. I bought it pre-owned and need to replace the battery, which lasts half what a new one is. But at this age for the battery, not shocking. Batteries are real expensive. I'd love to find a way to refurbish it, but I haven't heard of anything. I had a Minnkota motor previously. The extra noise is of little concern. It's only louder at the faster settings, and used at Minnkota slower speeds most of the time. To me, a competitor should offer a less expensive alternative, not a more expensive one like the ePropulsion. The market can use a less expensive lithium powered motor. I needed a stronger motor to get my boat through currents, strong winds, etc. With the Minnkota, I had to worry about getting back if the conditions weren't what I expected. I hear a lot more about Torqeedo than ePropulsion. I'd be hesitant to go with a company I hear even less about, for even more money for a similar product.

The Torqueedo is way above the ePropulsion in build quality. Out of the two I'd go Torqueedo hands down. Although I pick a Ray Electric outboard above everything else in that class of thrust

Not mentioned is the added fact that the Torqeedo makes not just a louder sound, but an ANNOYING sound -- a high-pitched whine is much worse than the sound the ePropulsion makes or even a gas outboard.

3. test power
4. Test the drag
5. Test the acceleration
6. Test waterproof
7. Test shockproof

Epropulsion goes a little bit faster than Torqeedo do. 48v has more power.

ha ha ha ha so much wrong with this "test" what a joke! bwaaha ha hahaha... I don't support either companies products, just came for info and found this joke. starting with using phone mic (which uses error correction and sound compression to optimise voice quality).
Then it is set on a metal "platform" on the same stand as the vibrating motors, then the motors are run at two different and random velocities, then the distance between them and phone is random. then they are not in water, then they are not attached to a boat, in short this isn't even a fake test, its like comparing a fighter plane against a random car...no friction, jet engine, etc etc... a massive funny joke.

ePorpulsion technologicall far away from torqedo..
1-batary connection with plastic pin by torqeedo is really technologicall fail.If you loose it is gone..It is not floating.
ePropulsion Battery bigger capacity, easy connection and floating.
2-TWO wire connection of torqeed makes many connection
failures.ePropulsion only one wire connection.
3-control panel of torqeedo create many problem due to connection while mounting..ePropulsion rigit on the main body so eliminate connection problem
4-ıf you check silent test torqedo reach 74dsb full power while ePropulsion only 48dsb

The speed and weight of these tell me one thing..They get stolen in no time, they won't last.. See, an engine is an engine..No matter what engine, what date, you will be able to buy parts or make your own.. How about electric engine?? Cost 100 times as much as the gasoline engines we know, if it breaks it ends up in trash..Hmmm is it worth it?? HELL NO! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHIT!
