Smart Fortwo 450 not staring. 9 times blinking. Key teach-in procedure.

This little smart came to me as a non runner, with the horrible 9 times blinking of the hazard lights, and the key in the gear change window on the dash...
Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do to get it started without the correct equipment....
In this video I will take you through the process of re-synchronize the key and get the car started again...

When you turn star on next go back into the search by vehicle type select the correct chassis type, then once that next page comes up asking for specific stuff just push the button at the bottom of the screen that should auto search it all for you, keep the cool videos coming

If it is the original key on any Mercedes Benz product the easy solution is as follows:
Disconnect battery in car, remove battery from key, reinstall key battery, reinstall car battery, lock and unlock door with key(not button) then start car.... This works on all Mercedes

Hey there, hopefully you still receieve notifications on this.

I just now have a similar problem.

Immobilizer is not disengaging, doors opening while using the 'rear entry' though.
Keyfob remote does not work at all.
I'm not getting a 9x Flash of either the harzards or the brakes, neither the clicking sound.

I got my spare key aswell, exact same issue.

Now.. it's either the Receiving unit fucking up (due to desync, possibly, though I basically drove half an hour, then got out and locked the car, beeing away barely 5 minutes until the issue)
Or BOTH fobs batteries are dead (probably more likely since I've had the issue where my car wouldnt lock properly ONCE and that resolved itself after pressing a few more times.. that was months ago tho)

Though I always keep my keys in my front pocket, there's barely a possibility of the keys beeing pressed, let alone 100 times or however many times SAM/whatever pre-calculates codes..

I'll be going to my dealership tomorrow (luckily right around the corner) and get new batteries (all shops were closed at this time) plus maybe will need to get the car towed and keys reprogrammed.

Hopefully that'll fix everything.

Successfully progrmed with delphi clone... Tried few times with 2016 version, successfully done with 2015.. Few times got remote working but not starting

MaxiIm608 is able to reprogram the remote control. Maxi Sys Elite didn't make it. Today I did. :)

Als dit probleem zich voordoet druk opnieuw op de deursluitknop en terug op de opendeurknop en de auto zal starten. ik had vroeger dezelfde Smart en heb dat probleem ook meegemaakt. Het is dus geen defect aan de auto het is omdat je te lang gewacht hebt voor te starten en dan gaat de startmode in beveiligde stand en kan je dus de motor niet starten.

My 2004 plate 450 doesn't start sometimes it's really frustrating, the box in the middle dash board is clear when turning the key numerous of times, only after 10-20min or so the car will start displaying Netrurel any ideas on what the issue would be??
