Smart for two starting problem

Ignition Starting issue

If youleaves the driver's door, for a long period of time. It's a safety feature. You must shut the driver's door and while turning the key hold the unlock button the count to 10. Then start the car, if it's diesel. Wait for the globe light to go out then start it! should start for you!

Hi mine just done this whilst in motion travelling at 30mph so any ideas. Could battery be dead and still light up the dash, wipers etc ?

This just happened to me, I am bringing my car tomorrow to Smart Clinic in Harrow. Has (the owner) has an excellent reputation. I sometimes broken down (before it was driveable still) during driving, which was so dangerous and hectic

I ended up putting in gear a rocking the car, thought they was joking be it worked !?!?

Did you manage to get sorted? I had this problem last month, my issue was the battery was dead even though it was doing the same noises as yours.

Also turned out the battery went dead because the alternator had died. If you ever need any help Smart Tecnic in Birmingham are excellent 👌

Had the same problem try resetting the I don’t know what to call it but service mileage counter then those two spanner lights will go then it might start!

Would a dead battery be this reason mine got 3 bars on the speedo

My 2015 started doing the same thing, turned out it needed a new battery

Maybe the radio has a permanent live, which is draining the battery

Put fut on break, put it in nutral, wait a second, then park again. Then start it.

I have to wait untill flashing spanner on the dash disappears it’s doing its saftey checks before ignition

Key got decoded, look at the state of it. You tuch tge buttons on the logic board. Get somone to reprogram a new key
