This is the exact same as Better Enchanting, which was a 1.7.10-1.12.2 mod that never got ported. This type of enchanting table is extremely useful.

A similar mod to this is the Enchanting Infuser mod. It does the same thing basically. It lets you choose which enchantments you want to apply to your stuff and can also repair them. This mod adds 2 new tables ehich are the upgrades of the normal one and both add new features to the previous table's features. With this mod, you can also disenchant your tools if you want or just take away one enchant and get your xp back

Isn't the original one called Enchanting Plus? Also there's a (for me) better "succesor" (cause the first one only got updated until 1.12.2), and it's called Enchanting Infuser. It would be great if you do a review for it (if you haven't yet). Continue with this great mini reviews ^^

There's also the enchanting Infuser, it's a bit expensive to craft but it's so worth it, it also works with modded enchants, it can repair items, remove enchants and returning the XP used and so much more

At first, I was a little hesitant to like this mod

But then I realized that yeah, it’s much more interesting for it be a choice. Cuz now, it’s more about resource management and deciding what gets enchanted and what will be saved for later which is far more interesting than gambling for the best enchantments over and over again.

I’d recommend a system similar to the blast furnace and smoker where along the regular enchanting table, there’s one for weapons and tools where you can choose whatever enchantment you want and another for armor that does the same thing. The normal enchanting table will still be there for general enchantments that can effect both sides like unbreaking but at that point it’s more practical to use the other two since mending exists

Enchanting does feel much less effective than just using enchanted books BUT it does make it easier and to max out a piece of gear since the initial table enchant doesn’t contribute to enchantment cost at an anvil making it much easier for casual players to get a god tool without looking up a guide to avoid “too expensive”

Should still definitely get a rework though

I love this mod, also using enchanting infuser to get incompatible enchantments together

Instead of repairing with XP, just use a grindstone. No need to use EXP if you have 2 almost broken tools to combine the durability
