Today I will show you a tutorial on how to arrange any track in any genre in a matter of minutes!
We will use the concept of Reference tracks - the most important concept not only in music production but in practically every part of our lives.

With this technique, we will make a guideline using reference track & markers to create some kind of template that we will use to quickly arrange our track.
After that, we will get to know something about the 2 most common arranging techniques - subtractive & additive technique.

These are so nice. I mean I already know I need to arrange stuff like these and it's so simple to think of it and do as well. But still I often get stuck at many places due to lack pf starting points and the in between images of the start and finish in my head and finally end up removing many things-> then getting frustrated why my track looks so empty and weird -> leaving the entire project.

It’s good you’ve brought this up because I’ve been using this technique for so long. I produce for a rap group in the UK who are coming up really well and my best tip I could give to anybody is ALWAYS use reference tracks. For producing, arranging, mixing, everything. I’ve sat on Fl studio in the past struggling with chord progressions so much to the point I’d be there creating the most simple 4 bar melody that sounds corny as hell and I’ve just “gone with it” because my mind easily gets distracted and I think things like “does this sound good”, “I think it’s good”. What I do now is load up my new favourite track, import it in fl, then I listen to the sound selection, builds, how it’s mixed, find exactly WHY I like it.. Then I’m easily able to replicate the vibe and do my own thing with it. It really helps you to get a track started when you just can’t think of anything that sounds good to you. This especially helps producers like me who have clients ask for a specific sounding beat. I usually always go to the producers latest popular song and figure out what plugins they might have used, where to find those sounds, what atmosphere does this song create, who’s gonna be listening to it and my favourite, what can I do to impress the fans of this genre of music? Referencing is such an underrated way to get good at producing fast. Copy from the best and eventually you will prosper so long as you’re still passionate about your craft and are able to make it your own. I don’t like sampling, so referencing for me is another outlet to unlocking writers block and using someone else’s idea to make it your own
