Apple will soon let you repair your own iPhone

You'll be able to find repair manuals online and order the parts and tools you need to perform basic fixes on current Apple products. Apple will start rolling out the program next year with kits for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, and supplies needed for Mac computers will follow shortly after.

Apple said hmm I don’t have to pay employees to fix phones? I can cut down that cost. Charge the consumer authorized repair shop prices of tools and hardware. Well sounds like easy money to us. Also there’s a lot more consumers than even apple repair stores or authorized repair stores. The amount of hardware apple will move is crazy. When it’s a business it’s never a benefit for the consumer.

In India there are a dozen mobile repair shop at every corner who are opening up all mobiles and doing them for peanuts.

What makes the hardest part of the repairs is the BS in regards to the software locks they put on parts, batteries and replacement screens, etc

Apple should create Personal Repair Certificates, Once you watch a simple Service video and take a simple online test you would then be able to order parts, manuals and diagnostic software for the device your wanting to repair.

The problem is that the prices that apple offer the parts are gonna be very expensive... because as apple said, the same prices as now sells... those prices are very high

Professional mechanics had this same problem for years until auto manufacturers were told to allow access by owners and independent repair shops.
The new fight is ag equipment and trucks.
Phones fall into the same category. If I paid for it I own it.
Unlock the individual components and allow repairs by anyone who can figure out how.
