not sure if that's easier than using a rotary with an index plate. with the rotary you do the setup once cut a spline index to the next position cut next cut next cut, its pretty darn fast.

That milling cutter isn't forming an SAE spline profile do you just deepen the cut until the hub fits ?

Are you just visually indexing the shaft between cuts?

Not saying this way won't work but lots of setup and re setup don't think the splines are cut at a 45 either been a long time easier with a rotary table with a index plate like another viewer mentioned
