I’ve never heard of such a thing. Your explanation that using opiates while having a personality disorder can be a disinhibitor is spot on. That I can totally see. Thank you, as always.

I have schizophrenia and I take morphine… it most definitely stops all the voices so I would call it an anagelsic/antipsychotic

Benzo abuse definitely does, it's horrible

Morphine derivatives like codeine and vidcodin won’t but thebaine derivatives like oxycodone and buprenorphine will cause slight visual hallucinations but I don’t think any of them cause actual psychosis but large doses of opioids cause hyperactive delirium so that’s probably why some of you hear voices

I went through psychosis a few months ago getting off Seroquel cold turkey I didn't think the withdrawal would be that bad man was I wrong a week of torment and agony never ever again with any of those psych meds

opiate withdraw can cause temporary psychosis tho, right ? i already have psychotic episodes bc im scitzoaffective, when i detoxed off fentanyl i was hallucinating for weeks. my fiance had it was worse than i did, we were on the exact same stuff for the exact same amt of time, only difference is he isn’t predisposed to psychosis. weird tho bc he though trump n putin were in the er w him for detox lol

I got screwed on the deal ...I was hoping for shcitzophrenia but I actually been demon posessed for 30 years now ... Anyhow im glad I had Ativan because I had severe anxiety on top of it ...And it got me most of the way ...Im 52 years old 😊

Yes it Does, after 13 Years on 220mg oxycontin a day plus 15mg to 20mg of Valium a Day plus 100mg Seroquel to Sleep at night. Would Anyone here say I'm overprescribed?? I'm went from outgoing to a Hermit chasing my pain with dosages that my body just keeps getting used to.

I have 2 friends who have been on methadone for years now. It has turned them into completely different people. They're irritable, mean, and are manic like (either up or down, can't seem to balance themselves). If you ever mention to them that maybe the reason they lost all their friends and their teeth might be cause of the methadone, they'll flip out on you and defend methadone like it's some kinda god. Truly sad. And one of them never even had an opiate problem.... they just were "depressed" and figured out a way to let the clinic get em high every day.
