The most difficult thing that Thay practices, is not to be overwhelmed by despair. That is the hardest thing to practice. Words cant express what this teacher means to me. He is the definition of beauty and compassion.

"You have to be peace before you can do peace"

"You have to be peace to bring peace"- if those words were practiced solely we would end all wars on planet Earth. What I can do for the planet is to become peace myself. I can not control other people, their responses and choices. If I feel they disturb my peace than I have work to do, on myself, not on others. This kind of responsibility comes from the mind that is aware of itself and the cause and effect of it's actions

Looking at his eyes when he shared a story about the war got me teared up. Thank you, Thay, for teaching and showing us the true meaning of loving kindness. 🙏 I'm grateful to find your dhamma talks, I've been following the practice and it helps me a lot. Send love to you and the sangha. ❤

It's calming listening to him. I love how he weighs his thoughts before answering. We just dive right in with our opinions. I'm going to think more first before speaking.

This video, and others where Thay speaks about his peace activism, should be shown as part of the school curriculum for the history of the 20th Century.

That might be the best story I've heard about the war at Vietnam. Thich Nhat Hanh is truly a man of peace.

Took me 8 minutes to realize there is someone behind that table in the middle. Great video, too.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you Venerable Thay. It's amazing to hear your high understanding level, full of compassion and so many expressions of the human potencial in a single person; and of course, that person it's YOU!!! Our work could be different with more people like you. I try to do my best in order to help myself and others too. My honor tu yo dear Thay. Evangelina Cortes.
