It is a ventless model. As I have said before it is ONLY used as a back up should we be away for more than a day at a time. It does cause condensation which causes black mold if not dried out quickly. Our primary source of heat is wood which dries the condensation up.

You make a great video. You explained it all very clearly. Looks like a wise choice in heating products.

Every state in the US has the same laws regarding propane and natural gas. I wanted him, his family and all viewers to be safe when using propane. Obviously you don’t or haven’t worked in the gas industry, and the person who made the video was extremely thoughtful.

Best video yet on showing the unit operating in condition! When you opened the front door and there was snow falling from the sky and already on the ground - I was sure you knew what you were talking about! Thank you!

I install heaters an deliver propane.. running the heater with just the pilot would not over heat the thermocouple.. i have a hearter that i have ran for 4 years straight summer an winter.. usually its dust that makes them shut off like that..

The Blue Flame is more a convection heater but they do have the radiant ones with the ceramic heaters. I’ve had both and the radiant heaters are much better imo. They do put off a smell and lots of moisture so it’s advisable to crack a nearby window.

I have been using these heaters for a few years now I have a 500 gallon propane tank I know a lot of people push the Buddy heaters I prefer this kind I am happy with them you can't hear them run like a furnace😊

I got a couple of these in my home for supplement heat to my electric heaters and backup heat during blackouts. Not sure why no one mentions it in their reviews but that thin sheet metal Bings, Bangs and Booms as it heats up and cools down all the time, not a big deal but I watched reviews before I bought and no one mentioned it, it startled me when it happened and be prepared folks.

Cool, thank you so much for your review of this product. I'm currently researching the best options to heat my future 500 square foot cottage.

I live in the bboonies of NE AZ. Propane heat is a must during the winter. Snow covers panels and it gets K O L D.

I've seen other comments regarding the cold tank and other than it "sitting in the snow" don't give much further explanation. I would at minimum build a small cabinet of sorts with a small shelf (if only just a floor, that's a big tank to lift to any height which the height isn't really necessary or any more helpful) which would not only bring the tank off of the ground but also shield it from not only snow but also cold air flowing around it. Propane tanks by nature get extremely cold when the gasses flor out due too thermal dynamics so being out in the cold and snow makes this just that much worse. If they get cold enough even with "plenty of liquid" the gasses will not flow out. Another option is heated thermal insulating blankets that are sold premade for propane tanks. You could either plug one of these in or make a small solar system to run them completely off grid. This is an additional cost however if it means that you should be able to safely run the heater on 1 vs 2 would eventually pay for itself in the cost of extra propane. Also the faster propane is released from the tank the colder the tank will get. If you go the blanket route based on the size of your tank I'd say you should be fine with the smaller blanket for a 5-7 gallon sized tank placed around the bottom. Also there are fireplace fans that run off of heat alone with absolutely zero power input these are getting very cheap these days at 20-30 dollars or so. You can build a small metal shelf or even just hang it with a wire coat hanger just above the vent and when it comes to temp will automatically turn on moving more of that hot air further into the room vs straight up to the ceiling. Some of those fans even oscillate!

I’m new to this and got the dyna glo outdoor heater that comes with a qcc1/pol type hose. I got the same 100 lb tank filled and bought the 200k two stage regulator. I had to return the regulator I wanted on my tank as NOONE could tell me how to connect the 3/8 port at the end on the regulator to the qcc1/pol hose. Could you tell me exactly in detail if possible what you exactly have connected to the regulator? I really want to have one on my tank and not rely on the hose regulator. Great video. Thanks

I " gutted " my 30, 000b.t.u., and installed it in my home, as a " ventless, into the fireplace. Works perfect. Been using, on natural gas, for 8 years. Wouldn't trade for it.

We have one and installed it in our Florida room. Our home is natural gas. Works great!

One of the reasons it might have turned off was the sensor wire is actually in the path of the pilot flame. I've seen them where they get bumped or installed wrong and don't get to the flame. So check that. Also your tank pressure might have been low and when that happens the pilot light is not as "large" and misses the sensor wire. So review your pilot light and sensor wire and make sure they are aligned and close enough. Thanks for the vid.

Excellent video. Do you think this would run off of a 5lb tank or might there be pressure issues?

I live in a 100 year old home that I bought a couple years ago. I heated my home with multiple space heaters and was having $400 electric bills. I already had one of these heaters here so I ordered 500 pounds of propane and had it delivered. The heater that was here was filthy so I decided to buy a new one to be safe. My question is do I simply unscrew it from my old heater and into the new one or do I need to use plumbers tape with it or will it be fine without it?
