How I fixed my Stihl trimmer from bogging.
It only takes 10 minutes to fix and its easy to do.
Dont mind all the kids yelling in the background, its my daddy daycare! Schools almost back in.

Thank you so much. My husband passed away 6 months ago and I've been learning how to operate all his yard equipment. It's been tough but with fantastic videos like yours, I've been successful (so far!) in getting his riding lawn mower, the blower and now the weedeater up and running. I followed your instructions and now my weedeater is running like a top. Wow. You're a life saver!

My 14 yo son just watched your video, and fixed our weed eater following the instructions you provided. Thank you! My husband is happy not to have to take it in for repair.

Your video saved me from taking my Stihl FS240R line trimmer. It was bogging down about an hour into running just fine. The screen was totally plugged as you had shown. I couldn't find my torch and tried laqure thinner that couldn't cut to clean it. Looked a little harder and found my torch. Burned it all clean, put it back together and ran great. And was able to finish the job. Thanks so much bud!!

Thanks for the video. After cleaning the carb and spark plug I was stuck, the trimmer still bogged down. Your 5 minute video did the trick and about 5 minutes later the trimmer was running like a champ!

I had mine loaded up and ready to take it to the repair shop, got out of the truck, went inside and Googled to come across your video. Back out to my shop and fixed it. Runs like a champ now. Thanks! Great vid!

This nailed it for me. 15 minutes and it started up fine and runs at full power again. Thank you for a great video!

I tried your solution and it worked perfectly!! My Stihl trimmer suddenly became very sluggish and lost power. I followed your directions, but didn’t have a propane torch available and wound up soaking the screen in carburetor/choke cleaner and scrubbing with copper tubing brush. After reassembling the trimmer it ran like it was brand new! Thanks for the help. This has been one of the best tips I’ve found on Youtube.

Hi! Just wanted to thank you for the information. I have a stihl fs45 that I purchased at a yard sale years ago and could not get it running. I finally broke down and bought a replacement carburetor. I was able to get it running but it bogged a full throttle. I stumbled across this video and proceeded to check the spark arrester. It was near clogged, so I decided to remove it. My model has a bolt in type with a mesh tubular screen attached. I reinstalled the bolt in tip, ran it, and adjusted the carb. It now runs as good as new! Again, thank you!

My Stihl trimmer was working fine one week ago, and today would die the instant throttle was applied. It did not have the exact screen setup as this video, but after locating the screen, sure enough, that fixed it. Thanks for the video, saved my trimmer.

I had this same issue with my 5 year old fs70r. A tune up kit didn't help. The dealer couldn't get to it for 2 weeks... I saw this video & BAM!!! Problem solved! Thank you

.... I have been messing with my Stihl FS 55R weed trimmer for days now. It would barely idle. The last time I had it it ran okay. Thought it was the gas/oil mix way to rich. No. .... I cleaned the carb. Didn't find anything really dirty and it still would idle very rough it ran at all. .... Found this video and the light bulb in my head went off, THAT'S GOT TO BE IT!!!! I am mechanically inclined and what this video showed made perfect sense. The exhaust could not, "exhaust". .... Mine was a little different than in this video but figured out how to get it out. You guessed it, totally clogged. Heated it up, wire brushed it off, blew it out with air, reinstalled and it ran like new. .... THANKS SO MUCH!!!! Trimmed everything last night.

My old Stihl FS38 trimmer had no power. Was thinking of ditching it and purchasing a new one. After watching your video mine now runs like a dream. I didn't have a gas torch at my disposal so just used a wire brush and a pair of pliers to hold it. You saved me $180 the price of a new trimmer. The least I can do is subscribe. Thank you.

I am a senior female and your video was just what I needed to get my Stihl weedeater running great. It was fast and easy and you saved me some money since I didn't have to take it to the dealer. I think anyone could follow your instructions. Thanks so much.

Awesome, this solved the issue I've been having with one of the Stihl's at work for years.
Did a full teardown twice, but didn't even consider the spark arrestor as a source for the problem.
Big thanks from southern Quebec!

Planned on taking the Trimmer to the repair shop but found your video and it solved my issues. The STIHL trimmer runs like new again. Thank you for the video.

I love the happy children playing in the background it reminds me of my shop. When ever I go to work on something my children always want to help. I love it when we bond over hard work. Not only does it build our relationships it teaches them how to take care of their equipment. Great video! My Sthil FS55R will start but when you give it gas it bogs down and shuts off. I hope this fixes it.
