#Brexit Checks Shelved Again on EU Imports. Brexit Is An Inflation Trap!

As govt once agan delays EU import checks to ensure a level playing field for our farmers and to protect the public health, it’s evident we are in a brexit trap.

Martin Kennedy VP NFU Scotland said, “Its lax approach to border controls continues to leave farmers exposed to the introduction of devastating animal and plant diseases such as African swine fever.

"It also leaves our food and drink exporters jumping through the hoops of a full border check to get our produce into the EU while those sending their goods here from Europe continue to do so at a competitive advantage.

"This continuing asymmetric trade devalues any claims lauding the Trade and Cooperation Agreement by the UK government," he warned.

Remember that this all was project fear and they wanted a no deal Brexit with less clarity and more chaos. Also worth to say, theoretically the British side should have checks, but they decided NOT to carry on. Also remember please everybody that when Britain WAS a member of the EU, it fought for making harder and harder to trade with third (mean non EU)countries. Well done for everyone who wanted to “simplify” the life for us. I wish you never go to a ballot box ever! The lack of knowledge and not able to understand complex matter just damage the country and actually every democracy. The freedom is coming with huge responsibility, opportunity is NOT equal with guaranteed success and the whole mess only benefits to people with more authoritarian ambitions. Be aware!

The EU sells food because the food is needed and wanted, otherwise they couldnt sell it.
The UK can stop buying food from the EU, if it wants.
So, dont blame the EU.
If the import controls come in place, the situation will get worse. Some producers in the EU will stop selling to the UK. Too much hassle.

We have to trade with our closest neighbours . We only voted to give this selfish government more power and autonomy at mainly cost to our children as they will suffer the most . I saw ann widdicombe speaking to this lady on tv, she said she was proud to have sovereignty back( which we never lost in the first place )and was proud of Brexit. This lady is just being truthful, widicombe just dismissed what she said. Why oh why did farmers in general vote for brexit? It beggars belief.

Well I think you put that extremely well, cogent and clear, and if you are representative of the farming community now then there is hope. The farming community up and down the country voted Leave as far as I can gather and I still don’t know why they didn’t see they were being sold down the river. The EU was farming and fishing’s biggest and closest market. How they voted for Brexit escapes me. Tory Heartlands rural England and now it’s a disaster and set to get worse before it ever gets better. You put the plight of us all well and with sincerity and I hope your message cuts through.

Suffering is good for the soul. If England suffers long enough and hard enough maybe there'll be a little self-reflection as to how the country has come to this. Not holding my breath though.
