ArcCaptain reached out to us and provided the MIG200 for review, and they asked us to share our honest opinions with our audience. #sponsored The ArcCaptain MIG 200 MultiProcess Welder is a 200A inverter welder. You can Stick weld, MIG, TIG, or use a Spool Gun. The interface is easy to use and the synergic mode keeps a lot of the confusion out of getting started. Just choose your Amperage and the ArcCaptain automatically sets the Voltage. The normal price for the MIG200 is typically $499, but the current price is less than $400. #welder #arccaptain #review

For $350 (on amazon all the time) i dont believe there's a better machine. Stick/tig/wire(w+w/o gas).. inductance control, euro connection for mig, ≈60% duty cycle, spool gun ready for aluminum. Excellent machine

DC only . It welds aluminum 4043 with the mig gun, no spool gun required and it has pulse. I was very skeptical when I bought it, but am amazed how well it runs for the price and the quality of the welds it puts down. I haven't used dual shield flux cored with it. I have a Primeweld mig 285 that kicks ass with dual shield flux cored.

When you got the welder up to 180 amp did you check to see that it was really putting out 180 amp?? All the reviews I seen on YouTube no one checks to see if what is on the meeter is what the machine is putting out. Looks to me it was running a little cold. I really don't care if a machine only puts out 180 amp or not but the meeter should be accurate so when you go from one machine to another you don't have any problems adjusting to the new machine.

Awesome video, thank you for giving such a great rundown on a few welding details!

I've welded as "Work" since I was a kid. I still weld all day every day full time for a living.

If I had it all to do over (I have spent a fortune, a literal fortune, on welding machines over the years) I would buy 2 machines & only those 2.

First would be a Yeswelder stick machine - less than 100 quid. Second would be a Hitbox flux core machine - less than 200 quid. Both run off domestic power outlets(220v), both are spectacularly reliable, dependable & powerful. Those 2 will weld 80% of what any normal welder needs to weld. The 20% they won't is aluminium & I've never cared about welding aluminium.. I could chuck the 2 of them into the footwell of a car. Go buy one of each, learn how to really use them, thank me later. Add a grinder, a cheap auto-darkening mask & off you go welding.

I think most people that buy something like this use the 110. Wish your video displayed this.

Great video. I have a power question; specs on the back say input on 110v is Max 40.7A and 1eff/A 25.7 A. Who the heck has a 50 amp circuit breaker on a 110v circuit? Is this even usable in North America on 110V?

How do you feel this compares to the yes welder that you reviewed last year. I bought the yes welder but I still haven’t unboxed. I’ve had some serious health issues I’ve been dealing with. But I’m going to learn how to weld. No matter how long I have to wait. I just wanted your opinion on the 2 welders. I also purchased the yes welder plasma cutter. Which is also still in the box. Trust me I’m a bit discouraged but not defeated. I will eventually learn how to do both of these processes.

Can you describe the motion your using when welding? Are you making little circles or moving back and forth?

This is a rebadged Hitbox MiG-250. Same settings, screen, knob, only it’s $200 more, lol.

if you drag or pull the mig weld like you did the weld will be colder than if you push the mig gun into the weld it will be hotter even on the same setting because your heating the metal up before you get to it. i see your right handed so you should be pushing not pulling. hope this helps.

They should have run a 220 gauge wire directly to the welder, and then used an adapter to step down to 110. It's weird that they did it the other way around. I wonder if that has something to do with you only seeing 180A.

Pretty impressive 60% duty cycle on that unit? Usually no-name machines are only good for 20% at best, not bad at all?

Never seen a welder like that, that didn't use a pot for wire speed, and another for just amps? I'm assuming the wire speed is all electronic?
