I loved watching this one so much! I can’t believe how much they put in those ration packs - wow!! I tell you - you wouldn’t wanna be on a front line getting your lunch ready - sooo complicated!! Gives me a whole new respect for hubby’s time in service 😂

I enjoyed this video so much. I’ve done these mres with my sons and they are fun to do. Have you ever seen ones from other countries? It’s so interesting the things they get. Love you both

Hi Tim and Tam! My hubby was in the US Marines and he ate those alot when he was in!! We still sometimes buy them for fun and he shows us his "special recipes" to make them better 😂😂

My favorite MRE (I was in the US Army) was Pork Chow Mein. Sadly it was discontinued . I had the first version of MREs in 1984. They were in dark brown plastic and were mediocre. The light brown plastic MREs came out in 1988 and were much better and they have only improved since then.

Ohhh I loved this video. It was so fun and interesting. I'm glad you did it without having read all the instructions first and then doing it. It made it so much more fun this way. You two are so stinking cute. BTW, Tim, if you lose anymore weight you're going to blow away with the first burst of wind. Are you unwell? Thank you, John, for sending that food thing. Hope you guys do another one. It was very different and loved that you were outside. Would love to see some of your wild birds there sometime too. I know you've shown some in a few of your other videos, but would love to see more. Where I live there are no bright colored birds. Anyway...Thanks again.

Great video, Tam and Tim! I believe there are a few people on Youtube who seem to specialize in reviewing and taste testing various MREs. Mostly they try American MREs, but now and then they will feature equivalent packaged meals that other countries produce for their soldiers. It just so happens that I found a video within the last week or so that had the same main course that you tried, the chicken burrito bowl, but with a different side dish and different dessert. I imagine there are quite a few possible combinations of main course, side dish and dessert in MREs.

I was glad to see that you had no trouble working out the heating system for the MRE. I don't know anything about the chemical reaction that happens when a small amount of water is added to that pouch, but evidently it works quite well. From the other MRE taste tests I have seen, it's not unusual to heat up the dessert using that heater pouch.

"Towelette" sounds like the sister of Towelie from South Park.

"Don't forget to bring a Towelette. You wanna get high?"

Canadians have IMP's (Individual Meal Packs), which we prefer, as they are less sweet, and less salty than the US MRE's. However, the MRE's are actually pretty good too. If you check the calorie information, if you aren't out fighting, and using energy, sharing between two is actually a good idea!
