At 55, I don't swing as fast and as hard as I used to however, when I tried a regular flex, I didn't like the feel. Great advice, use what you are comfortable with.

I use Regular and Senior flex through the bag. It's to the point where I'm not sure which ones are which. They produce the shots I want. So, all good!

I’m 50 and a 4HC. Drive the ball 250ish carry and hit most fairways with regular flex. My irons are Wilson CB 3-PW with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver 55 A flex…yep, “senior” flex. I like the feel and it makes me swing smoother and not so aggressive. I play a 115 gram DG wedge shaft in my 54 wedge, don’t take full swings, like the weight and flex for 70 yards and in.

10 years ago I didn’t get along with driver and used a Mizuno MPH5 1 iron off the tee with senior flex shaft…230 straight with good roll out…can’t hit it that far anymore, hence I figured out the driver!

Moral of the story, play whatever feels good and yields the best results.

I used a senior shaft went to X stiff shaft never looked back straighter with the X stiff much better lost a few yards but definitely recommend this

Like so much, it's very individual specific, at least with most amateurs. I know young/strong guys that bomb it with reg flex, and old guys that hit it just as far & straight with stiff flex. Get a proper fitting and use whatever works for YOU.
