It’s simple. HBO knows they stand more to gain financially by working on this project than by listening to a very loud but, small minority

JKR is smart enough to never sell the rights to HP so if they want a series that will make tons of money, they need her

How the F can you have a tv series about Harry Potter without JK Rowling.

I was so disgusted by how the entire cast of the Harry Porter movies turned their backs on her when she’s responsible for their success.

Trying to cancel a woman who has simply said “stop trying to erase women” is absolutely psychotic

I love how she’s not taking shit from anyone. Good for her.

It’s impossible to cancel her because J.K. Rowling’s contract with Warner Bros. is unprecedented in its level of control. Unlike most agreements where creators sign away rights, Rowling retained complete ownership of the Harry Potter IP. Warner Bros. and HBO must get her approval for any project related to the franchise, giving her full creative control. This means she has the final say on every decision, from movies to spinoffs, and she earns more from the IP than the studios themselves. If she ever decided to halt production or block a release, she has the legal power to do so—even after millions have been spent. This level of control allows her to speak freely without fear of cancellation, as the studios cannot remove her without risking the entire franchise. It’s a rare and remarkable example of a creator maintaining total authority over their work.

The attempted cancellation of JKR is what triggered my leaving the left and woke me up to the insanity of the left.

As a gay guy, the "if there's no sex there's no same sex attraction" really resonated with me and tons of other gay men and lesbians. We've all been dealing with "trans lesbians" and "trans gay men" for a while now. It doesn't even feel like trans people. It's always a scary looking man who's a "trans lesbian".

Hey that's just a guy in a wig that's a loser and uses 'being trans" to get away with him actively exercising a fetish in public. Same way I get called transphobic because I don't want to date "gay trans men". It's really really annoying and I just know JK has a normal gay person in her life that agrees with her and backs her up.

A bunch of people threatening a woman just because she said she feels uncomfortable with a biological male in the women's bathroom, and how men competing in female competitions is unfair, it's scary, and makes me realize how misogyny is rising up all over again.

About time people stop giving into the demands of this deranged cult. I'm pleasantly surprised that HBO defended her. Another sign that wokeness is finally dying.

I defended her against my raging liberal aunt who now refuses to come to Thanksgiving at my house. I stand by it.

I first realized I was different when I didn't see anything wrong with what JK Rowling said

6:20 it’s crazy how a decade ago how many conservatives were against Rowling because she was too liberal and now the liberals hate her because she’s too conservative.

These people think they are Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood or Severus Snape when they're actually more like Rita Skeeter, Cornelius Fudge or Dolores Umbridge

The only part that bothered me about this whole thing was her being abandoned by the 'stars' her movies made of them. Some threw her under the bus to stay on the 'correct think' side of wokeism.

‘Funny how people label a difference of opinion as a phobia’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

A phobia is ‘an extreme irrational fear or aversion to something’.

Nothing JKR says is phobic. Quite the opposite. She doesn’t oppose trans people, she is just trying to protect women’s rights!!

Rowling is a liberal. I am a liberal. However, I am also an engineer. So, I know something about science and reality. Rowling also seems to appreciate science and reality. There are a lot of people, from all parts of the political spectrum, who do not respect the value of evidence and reason. They just make stuff up to fit what they want to believe.

My working theory is this.

The political left’s attacks on J.K. Rowling stem from her embodiment of values that disrupt their narrative. Her success story—rooted in personal resilience and universal creativity—stands as a counterpoint to the belief that systemic barriers define individual potential. By creating a work that transcends cultural and ideological boundaries, Rowling highlights the power of merit and imagination, not identity politics, as the driving force behind achievement. Her refusal to conform to prescribed ideologies makes her a target for those who view dissent as a threat to their worldview.

Just the other day I was talking with someone and my sister about books and movies, and Harry Potter was mentioned, then my sister said "it's such a shame that JK Rowling is a hateful transphobic".
I said "she isn't actually that bad".
Then the other person we were with asked about it, and I told them that the comment that made everyone called her "transphobic" wasn't hateful, she was just saying that we need to protect spaces for biological women, and that it just really blew out.
Then the other person said that it is true that leftists tend to go extreme with people that don't think exactly the same.
My sister didn't said anything, but I hope it helps her make her own opinion.
