The increased focus on the implications of the war in Ukraine for security in Asia reveals the deep interconnectedness between the two theatres. Effective transatlantic cooperation and coordination with other likeminded partners in the region will play a key role in shaping the contours of future stability and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific. How can Europe and the United States align their respective regional strategies to manage a range of security and economic challenges?

CSIS and the Centre for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy (CSDS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels School of Governance co-organized the annual Transatlantic Dialogue on the Indo-Pacific to provide new perspectives on transatlantic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. This event will feature welcoming remarks from Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director, Asia and the Pacific, European External Action Service; and Kurt Campbell, Deputy Assistant to the President and Indo-Pacific Policy Coordinator, U.S. National Security Council. Panel discussions will follow featuring officials and experts from across the Atlantic who will address defense issues and the economic security agenda including trade, technology, and supply chain resilience.
This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
