What Does It Really Take to Dive to 400 Feet; And Is It Even Worth It? #trimixdiving #deepdive #technicaldiving

From calculating partial pressures to understanding why oxygen can become lethal below 56 meters, we walk you through the gas science, gear logistics, and decompression math behind extreme technical diving. You’ll also learn about the real dangers of gas switch errors, the 78-minute ascent required after just 10 minutes at depth, and why some dives may be technically possible but practically pointless.

If you're a diver curious about deep limits, trimix, or decompression theory, this is the most detailed, honest breakdown you’ll find.

Congratulations for this video. I'm a technical diver and I always love when I found excellent videos like this one about the basic concepts we need to know in our sport. Good information like these can bring more divers to Tech

Excellent video that describes precisely why i swiched to a CCR after my first normoxy trimix OC course!

You got a sub from me. Purely rec diver here, but the combination of both high production value and deep technical knowledge is a rarity on scuba YouTube! Thanks!

Thanks i learn to dive 35 year’s ago it was CMAS 2 years of snorkeling 1 year of training and learning to dive to 12 meter ;-)
i never understand the part of the trimix. but now i’m getting it.
Thanks.
no i’m going to view the rest of you’re chanel 🙏

Make so much sense to use a CCR for those kind of dives. To not suck your tanks in minutes and to not see your money transforming in bubbles haha. Would love to do it anyway, even in OC 😎 Great video!

As a fairly novice diver ive always looked at rebreather kit as crazy expensive and wondered why anyone would even bother .Then seen the price of helium for the dive you just showed i now think rebrearhers are prob a bargain when diving simlar depths very good video would like to see more

Would you dive to 120 meters if given the chance or do you think deep diving is more thrill than value? Let’s hear your thoughts on the limits of exploration vs. risk below.

I sold my double-tanks just a few months after I bought my CCR. 🙂 I don't even use them anymore for "medium-deep" (normoxic) dives. Going deeper than 40-50m with open circuit is no more fun once you can do it with state-of-the-art equipment literally everyday, in my experience.

Well Done Video! While my days of what could be called tech diving are long behind me. I can say that the cost of equipment, gas, training etc. to dive to 400 ft, would stop me even when I was physically up to it.

I’ve been considering Helitrox just for reducing the narcosis for OC cave diving. I wrapped up advanced nitrox and deco procedures in a rough environment recently with fairly cold water and bad visibility from 7’ on the bottom down to under a foot on our 30-10’ deco stops. Different environments and task loading. Definitely makes the Helitrox worth it for me, but even those prices I think at some point for cave and deep I’ll wind up on a sidewinder or choptima unit. great video.

Awsome video. Nice, logical explanation why and why not :) Thank you. btw. nothing pointless in passing own limits.

The cost of helium gas at around 400$ per fill, made it easy to understand the comment on closed circuit rebreather. If a diver were to take interest in full on technical diving cost of training and equipment would lean tword the rebreather if this is a real 5+ year venture. Not good for the try and fly guy.

Really interesting video. I am recreational diver . Personally for me going too deep I won’t see the marine life but saying that going deeper you will find deeper wrecks to dive.where I am limited to 40m . Also it’s the cost of training need to buy new gear and the expense of the gases that puts me off .But that’s my opinion. Crazy amount of deco stops you had to make . Also very interesting why the use /depth when to change gases and why you had too . Thanks really appreciate that video 👍
