Considering that 85% of road bike cyclists are amateurs, overweight, ride in urban roads, and do not in a peloton, disc brake is good. It's just not good for GC.

I agree on the cost issue, and we know pros are conservative with equipment selection. I think you overplay the maintenance issue, on my enduro bike I’ve never had to touch my XT breaks for 2 years except pad and rotor changes.

Love the way most of the high end bike companies are careful not to offer just disc brakes, but rather most have a rim option too. lol

Rim brake disappearence = sportscar manual transmission disappearance. Just to find out that there are a lot of ppl like it despite the disadvantages. I think the few manufacturers that will still make it will profit a lot, so rest will realize and bring it back overtime

I absolutely agree with all that say rim brakes look better and may not be necessary for some, however I personally love the feel of disc brakes and how they don't ruin your rims. Riding in Britain when it's wet a lot of the time also means discs are just better. Generally. Do the pros need them? Nah, probably not, but they're pro and get paid for that. I don't.

The r7000 105 comes in at 2463g's for the groupset and I can order it today for $US495. Save $3, 150 and get a lighter faster bike uphill! The Emperor has got no clothes lol What a complete waste of money! I could buy a 7.3kg trek emonda rim with the change.

faster downhill because it's heavier

This just makes me laugh for all the good reasons!

That's quite a disjointed way of turning negatives into positives. I also hate disc brakes...much prefer a light climbing bike. Braking on an alloy braking surface isn't too bad.

Sick deals on alibaba for their march sale. Trek emonda alr5 equivalent for 500 bucks with Sensah empire groupset. Twitter bikes, and its real. Its 7005 for dang sure. Thats a entire alr5 equivalent for 500 bucks on your doorstep. Same weight as well.

Hi, just thought you maybe able to add a comment about Katie's last video, she claimed that HR is not important she believes it's all about power, I'm not so sure, okay power metres are expensive so as a weekend warrior it's hard to justify, anyway your thoughts would be appreciated HR v Power as a basic training tool, example can't remember Eddy Merckx having power meter or training on Swift

I know, , , but it’s good for you too. Another super cheap all Chinese app carbon bikes unboxing and you and your wife or gf riding them... I know the virus may kill that idea for now. Regular old style brakes 1st but discs brakes ok 2nd.

why is nobody adressing the most important fact? disc brakes look ugly af on road bikes, it’s like a woman with hairy legs!! rim brakes are way more stylish
