It's called chiropractic, and you should go to a chiropractor for neck adjustments.

Chiropractic has been around since 1895. Chiropractors are trained precisely to deal with an issue just like this. Research has been out for years...History repeats....

Welcome to the wonderful world of CHIROPRACTIC.  Welcome to 1950, Physical therapists...BTW, using the term "adjustment" is specific to the world of chiropractic. I've seen the training PT's get in "adjusting."  Leave it to a profession who's been studying it and perfecting it for 100+ years, not someone who thinks this is still "new".

This is a physical therapist who was trained outside of the United States I think because the training outside of the United States looks a whole lot like chiropractic training, focusing on the segments. However there is a lot missing with that type of manipulation because it fails to look at the precise relationship between the head and the neck.

In fairness, he never says it's new, the media does. For all the chiro's here hating on the physios adopting some of your techniques, your profession had evolved too in recent years to incorporate aspects of exercise therapy etc. instead of purely 'adjustments' and a large part of that has come from the physio world. And Steve, i've seen some of the training chiros have on exercise therapy/prescription and functional rehabilitation etc. and i believe that too should be left to the profession that has spent a good number of years researching and perfecting it!

I recommend going to a chiropractor who is trained to adjust the neck. That adjustment didn't look very good to me.

The next time a 'medical professional' tells you how dangerous neck adjustments are remember this !! It all comes down to money and power. If the medical field is doing the adjustment then it is safe, even though their training is not nearly to the level of a that is what they will tell you. But if it is so dangerous wouldn't it be dangerous for anyone doing it? Common sense should answer that question for you.  ;)
