Bangkok Hit by Earthquake 28th March 2025 🇹🇭 Thailand

Thailand and Bangkok where hit by an Earthquake on the 28th of March. I was in Central Bangkok and just wanted to share the situation. In the Chatuchak Area a construction tower collapsed.

The main earthquake took place in Mandalay, Myanmar. In Bangkok city center all the offices cleared out.

This strong earth quake is rarely never happend in Thailand. This is the strongest I have seen. I'm a Bangkokian living here for 62 years.

I am from Kathmandu and I've experienced one of those Mega Earthquake in 2015, and twice, the same year, that shooked our country to it's ground with ultra distructive aftermath. And now, I've been staying in Bangkok since couple of months. Today, I felt a flashback memory recall of those devastated days. Today, I experienced the earthquake in a foreign soil. God bless beautiful Bangkok and it's friendly people.

a little over 6 weeks in bangkok thailand and i experienced my first earthquake ever. good thing i was already on the way out to get something to eat. as i was standing by door i felt like i couldnt stand straight and even wondered if i had a hangover. i opened the door and saw some other people leaving and i asked if they felt the building shaking and yep they sure did. fortunately i stay in a low rise building lilke 8 floors so it was not that bad. those that suffered worse i hope they are able to recover, find peace, and find strength through this.

I’m Japanese so earthquakes are very normal to us, and buildings here are extremely sturdy - I’m worried about buildings in Bangkok since they aren’t designed with earthquakes in mind😢
