How I catalogue my Blu-ray, 4K, and DVD collection.

We all have our own specific way to keep track of what we have. This video just goes over my personal way of keeping track.

Yes the app is good I've had it about a week but I'd say about 5% of scans need attention especially box sets.

0:50 you lost me at ongoing subscription. Price isn't the issue, forever use is. I have over 5000 discs to catalogue and if I am going to spend the next year inputting all this crap it better be a software I bought and own offline forever, even if I need to continue to use legacy hardware/os in the future to keep running it. I want a ONE TIME solution to my problem. When this company you speak of sells out, goes under, or otherwise stops their offering I don't want to get the shaft. I'll gladly pay a few hundred up front to buy a good system that I will own a copy of the software.

How do you sort the dvds in the shelves? By genre, or chronologically, or what?

My only two questions are, does this scan blu rays from the uk and does it have tv shows in the database?

Use the same App, I use it for movies and CDs its really useful and stops me from picking up duplicates

I also use this. But it’s for my digital collection. I categorize: purchase date, price, 4K or not. And then I use the webpage fanart to download clean movie cover. This I have done through my entire collection.

Does the picture of each individual blu-ray have to be a stock photo or can you use a picture you have saved of the blu-ray itself on your phone?

I write everything down in a notebook, divided into categories! I also store them that way.

I worked around fleets all my life so when I started my music CDs and (originally VHS) and DVD collections I simply number them. I then catalog the lists on paper as well as the computer. Then to make things even easier I cross referenced them by title and put the #. Naturally I know by heart the most frequently watched so I don't have to look them up. My music CDs and DVD have no cases so storage is no problem. 3000 movies fit in 10 boxes in my spare closet.
On TV series they're in their boxes and put them on a separate shelf in alphabetical order. Easy to find anything.

If you have a movie you need to blu ray and upgrade to 4k can you delete one to add the other.

This is something I haven't seen addressed by any of the YouTubers with walls and rooms full of disks, how do you know every one that you have? When I still had all of my DVDs on shelves, someone was breaking into my home and stealing them, my ex-wife stole some of them before I could completely move them out, and I wouldn't even know until I had the urge to watch a specific title, and it was long gone.

Couple of questions for you? Is the CLZ app still available? When you say you "scan", do you mean the bar code or the cover of the case? When I first started collecting blu Ray movies, they came in a three-pack; blue ray, dvd and digital copy. When you scan a movie of this sort, does it allow you to select all three versions? Can you catalog digital copies on this app as well?
