My mom had polio being in the water was the only time she wasn't in pain, she always said. She taught her 4 kids to swim and many others. If you didn't know how to swim, she'd offer to teach you. We owe so much to our veterans, we need far more of these programs to assist those who are injured.

im glad to see someone actually recycling and reusing glass. I feel like I put out my recyclables every week but I dont have faith that any of it ever goes in to post consumer materials.

regarding the glass recycling and the sand shortage: not all sand is usable for glass. the shortage is for that particular kind of useful sand. which is why it seems strange to me that they're taking perfectly good glass and using it as sand, when that's the kind of sand we specifically need for glass, and you can buy desert sand, which isn't good for glass, for practically nothing... then again, *if* those bottles were headed to a trash dump instead, I guess it's better to use them as sand. but if anything, it shows how messed up our recycling infrastructure is.

I don't think anyone really cares. Apparently, gas prices are low enough, and tires cheap with all the side shows
