Six String World - Episode 31 - Gear Review - Boss GT-1000 Core

Earlier this year Boss sent me to check out their GT-1000 Core multi effects pedal. It has a lot going on for features, and they're very practical.

January 2024 has just given way to February as I comment. Since last summer, I’ve been meditating on purchasing a GT-1000 Core as my next amp-modeling device. Since September 2018, my principal modeler has been a different Boss unit, the ME-80, and my compacted multi-effects generator is Zoom B1X-4. The appeal of getting this unit would be not only that it can provide me with every single amp and effect that I might possibly want in my arsenal but also potentially help me overcome my dependence on my current stomp box distortion (the Goat Generator from a Japanese manufacturer called Rancher). That pedal is meant to emulate the Boston electric guitar sound, something which I might have achieved with my ME-80 if I had more access to different parameters in a couple of the stump features.

What would be neat is if Boss created a rendition of their expression pedals that paired two of them together in the same unit as with the PS-7. That would make a great expansion without having to use external MIDI controllers for the same purpose.

Hi I am debating whether to get this device or the BOSS GT-1000 Core. I am a musician who practices in my apartment. Which is your opinion is the "Better" unit, more bang for your buck?

I don't get the negative comments, the interface is not the best, but we all know that, is not that complicated, and in the pc is very easy to use, besides that, is pretty good sounding, and even if the presets are nor the best, with some tweaking, they become great, and for sure, there are not a lot of amps, effects, or controls like in other units, but that's a point that serves the necessities of a lot of people, not everyone needs to expend a lot of time tweaking thinks, some people just want great sound effects with no much complication, and that's what the boss is made for (besides the interface)

i buy with 1 week now but the sound trash not so good in metal tone i try evry thing every amp every od i tweek the eq and input level and output non of that it's work so plz how you unit its sound ok but main trash and i connect the unit out to audio interface its that right or i do somthing wrong my guitar ibanez apex from band korn the input level set to plus 14 it's a lot but the level hit befor the point so it's correct

i find solutions i hop to try this and make video about to people who have problems with they unite and try clean patch and turn off every thing if you want good modern metal sound try this on boss gt 1000 core withe nural dsp abasi plugin on boss gt set the x-modded amp to middle gain sw then try low at 48 middle 49 high 50 and main gain at 55 then rise up and the distorsion pedal try x-od and tweek ther to find good balance distortion then with plugin try to lower all low mid high and try to tweek from that point and the gain set to 10 or 9 o'clock but be a wear put the clean amp on the plugin then after that try to tweak eq from the plugin and finally use ir on plugin and the mic level try to lower and enjoy the most metal cool sound every body look four good heavy sound not boss patch sound and it's good four clean play if you wanted i hop to try and if work four you plz make video about this solution i make sorry for my english it's week 😂😂 i hope to enjoy have good day

I sold mine. Boss could have done a much better job, but they sucked! Build quality was good, but the U.I. is bad. The unit lacks good amps and has space for only a few impulse responses.
