Life's A Beach | Overland Texas

Last weeks adventure took us through Texas Hill Country and Overlanding in our Winnebago Revel 4x4 Sprinter van with bat caves, river crossings and boondocking on a wild backcountry Texas Ranch.
This week, we take you to experience vanlife at the beach! Padre Island National Seashore. A hidden gem with one of the only beaches in Texas you can camp on. The amount of Ocean Plastics washed up on the shore was enlightening and to do our tiny part we picked up trash along the way.

We spent several days relaxing, watching the stars and eventually venturing further down Padre Island. Jim whips up some amazing Instant Pot Inspiration Recipes and Ember has the time of her life playing in the ocean. From the Arctic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, this is one of our final adventures before we begin a new adventure back to Alaska, just in time for Winter.

My wife and another couple rented a camper from rec. services at Laredo AFB in about 1968, while my buddy and I were in flying training together. Padre Island was so peaceful after the frantic pace of training, flight lines and the ever present aroma of jet fuel. The sea air as sweet. It was a blast! Thanks again for sweet memories! Monday it was back to parachute straps that chafed our sunburned back and shoulders for Gary and me but it was all worth it!

You really have the Revel dialed in. The batteries, the suspension lift, the insulation, the bed mattress, the lounge area in back. Love the bed liner on the sides as well. That was a great idea.
I wish I would have made it to Loveland to meet you nice folks. But as you know, life happens.
So glad you're enjoying your time in the lower 48. I do hope to meet you folks as some point.
