The ge1996t also has a bunch of features that the original floyd rose doesn't have, my favorite being the little screws inside the posts.

I’m considering one for my next build. The cheap licensed ones are my favorite, because if you know how to modify them, they’re better than the Floyd Rose Special. What I do is sand the face of each saddle block where it clamps to the string, with 120 grit paper, sanding horizontally. It levels the surface providing full contact with the string, and the horizontal texture of the sanding grips the string. The other thing I do is take some thick bike grease, and using a toothpick, put a dab on each block’s concavity where the screw pokes in, and also on the threads of the tuning screws (not the saddle block screws). Not too much - a little bit goes a long way. On the cheap licensed bridges, the screws seem to consistently work well and never strip, but I always throw away the locking nut and spend the $40 on a real Floyd. Last but not least, I always use them with a Fender tremsetter spring in the middle position.

100% agree. 👍 Exceptional quality and tremendous value. Paired with a D-tuna, I love mine. 😎

They make the Ibanez edge trem too. The locking posts feature is the best in the market.

I am with you on the GOTOH 1996T! My go to locking trem! Used OFR"s for years and years until i tired one of these Gotoh's!

I can confirm. Gotoh is a very stable FR.
I put one in my DIY guitar.
I just replaced these tightening blocks and screws with pipe screws so normal strings go through them.

He's right. Suhr uses these on all of their guitars. I've went to these because the tuning stability kicks every one of my Floyd Rose equipment guitars asses.
Half the price too.

Olá amigo, saberia dizer se a espessura da bucha dela onde é introduzida a alavanca é a mesma espessura da bucha da floyd rose special? Eu posso simplesmente remover a bucha da special e colocar a bucha dessa gotoh que já da certo?

I agree👍 put Gotoh to my first floating bridge project and never regret! The best money vs. quality ratio 😎

So I buy the inexpensive ones a lot! I know that some are far better than the cheapies. But does it fit the mounting posts of the usual Floyd? I noticed the low side has a slightly different shaped post recess. I'm not putting it down, just curious. Keep em coming!

I recommend trying ABM Katana. It's improved FR design. For example, it allows adjusting intonation without taking of or slacking the string
