📝 TV Technology Acronym Breakdown
Most brands stick by the rule of calling the TV technology what it is in the name. LED, QLED, OLED, Mini-LED, QD-OLED, etc. But every so often you’ll see a name that sounds fancy but is nothing more than a marketing name for a specific TV technology. Here are some of the most notable ones.

• QLED
Hisense: ULED
Amazon: Omni QLED

• Mini-LED
Samsung Neo QLED (A Mini-LED TV with a quantum dot layer over it)
LG QNED (LG’s Mini-LED technology with quantum dot)
TCL OZ Zero (TCL Mini-LED technology with quantum dot layer)

• OLED
Companies will differentiate between OLED, W-OLED, and QD-OLED.
OLED in 2024 will have a 3-diode array. Sets older than 2020 may have difficulty with brightness in ultra-bright rooms
W-OLED has a 4-diode array, with one of them being a dedicated white light diode. Produced brighter overall OLED picture
QD-OLED is an OLED panel with quantum dot technology over it, producing a brighter color image and more color-accurate image.

Just upgraded my 77 CX that I purchased back in November of 2020 to a 77 G4 and I'm completely shocked how much brighter these new OLED panels can get. The CX I had was still in perfect condition and even after 4 years, it showed absolutely no signs on burn in anywhere on the panel, but since I wanted to treat myself this year, I ended up buying the G4 and a PS5 Pro and I felt like a kid on Christmas when both were delivered on the same day, but I did have to wait a couple of days for a buddy of mine to stop by and help me with setting up the tv on the stand that I unfortunately had to buy separately. The CX was my first OLED since I was always worried about burn in but after having the CX for four years, those fears are no longer there and I'll never go back to a LED panel again. I'm now rewatching a lot of movies and playing the PS5 which makes me feel like a kid, even though I'll be turning 53 very shortly.

LG C3 or C4 and you'll be happy. I bought a C1 in 2021 and I'm perfectly happy with it.

Any tv you can afford and enjoy playing games on is the right tv. I can’t say enough good things about my LG G4, but know how much of a blessing it is to have that tv.

Sony Bravia for motion smoothing and black frame insertion without losing brightness. For single player games, it closes the gap in frame performance even more between ps5 pro and top end pc

I've had the LG CX and the C1. Last year I bought the A95L and let me tell you, it's night and day! I bought myself another A95L about a week ago. No regrets. Best TV I've ever owned. The King of TV's!! QD Oled is the way to go! I don't have any lag when gaming compared to the C1 I felt a slight lag input. The A95L also the best tv to watch movies. I recommend it!

I actually tried to buy 3 different 65" OLED TVs unsuccessfully, the S90C for $999, which Samsung would not deliver to my area, a C4 for $1200 that was cancelled by seller, and a G3 for $1899 that was also cancelled by seller. Finally I found a good deal with the LG Partners store and got an LG G4 and LG S95TR soundbar for under $3000 total including mounting service. I guess it turned out well in the end, but what a messy ride getting there.

I own the 65” C1 in my bedroom and recently bought the 83” G4 for my living room. Even though the C1 is beautiful and perfect for gaming. The 83” G4 just is in a class of its own.
