I'm not saying snake bite kits work, but there are 2 factors on this video that make it disingenuous. 1 any cut of meat not takes straight from a freshly killed animal is going to be dehydrated compared to live flesh and will want to absorb more as a result, nit letting as much liquid back out. 2: Snake venom is more viscous than water meaning it doesn't absorb as much into the area nearly as quickly. Additionally, while snake fangs are like needles they get progressively larger from injection point back to the wound exit. All these things mean that drawing something out of the tissue will be easier that your demonstration. Again not saying the kit is effective, just saying that for demo purposes on why it's not, your not checking the right boxes for me.

I was bitten by a copperhead in 2001. Didn't seek medical attention & regretted it. Second bite was in 2016, I tried this kit & you are 100% correct. This kit is worthless. Went to hospital with that one. Preciate your vid.

Best kit to have is a permanent marker, you make lines of the swelling with the time written on it for the doctors to get a good idea how fast it’s traveling and how much antivenin to give.

I use a similar suction thing for bug bites, and it works amazingly. Not surprised it doesn’t work on snake bites though, they’re so much bigger!

Just to be clear, blood flow has little to do with the distribution of venom in the body, it is spread through the lymph system, that is why splints and bandages and reduced movement is recommended treatment as opposed to tourniquets.

This is why even boy scouts doesnt teach snake bite wound treatment anymore. You cover the wound, and try to reach medical help while using as little energy as possible, the lower you can keep your heart rate, the better.

As someone who grew up in the land down under, this is what was told to us regarding first aiding a snake bite - dont panic. Try to keep your heart rate normal. Always a good idea to keep snake bandages handy but a torn t shirt will do in emergency. Bandage the limb or area tight enough (not too tight as it will prevent circulation). Call or send for help. If on your own, try to survive at any means necessary.
