Director's bio:
As a Student Academy Award® winner, Shih-Ting Hung is known as a director with distinguishable surreal visual styles. Born and raised on a fisherman's island Pescadores, Taiwan, Hung got her MFA degree in USA from Division of Animation & Digital Arts, University of Southern California and soon joined Ridley Scott Associates (RSA Films) as the new forces in Asia. Her work has also been invited for museum exhibitions including MOMA Taipei & Singapore Art Museum.

I remember signing this song in the car in a parking lot of a grocery store, alone waiting for my mom to come back from inside. I don't know why but I'm very fond of that memory.

Surrender to what is. Accept the moment, and don't resist it, the more you go against life, and against the flow of the river, the more you allow yourself to suffer. of course it's much easier said than done, it can be really hard to radically accept something horrible that has happened, maybe you're disabled or lost someone important to you, and all you do is unconsciously go against life, and resist your destiny. Accepting things can feel simply impossible.

Allow the pain to go through you, you will heal, just don't ever repress or deny important parts of yourself to try and avoid pain, don't turn to drugs or alcohol, because that is the unconscious side of you that is going in that direction, you would just become more unconscious if you give into something like that to escape pain. You need to be whole, if you are a half a pizza, you won't have control over your own toxic behavior, you won't even notice your toxicity.
This is self mastery in itself, and Bjork is definitely more whole than most humans because of this awareness and consciousness she has over herself. Repressing and denying parts of ourselves is a true problem humanity has to face, because a lot of us are rather unconscious half of the time, no control over anger and hate, always chasing things that feel so important to us, but it only really satisfies us briefly.

Definitely one of my favorite tracks from her masterpiece album Vespertine. I don't know what "recipe" (or whatever) she used for this album, but I sure wish she had used it more with other albums. She flowed in creating Vespertine, taking her own advice to not try so hard and to see it as NOT a struggle, but to go with her talented energy. The album has created so many great memories for me, particularly in 2002, the year after it was released.
