"Arrest them" "You want me, just one guy without his suit, to try to arrest Captain America, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Falcon?

Amazes me how Chris Evans can go from playing a carefree, energetic, literal hothead to a sympathetic, strategic old man with leadership qualities.

Steve Rogers: one of the coolest and well developed characters in the MCU.

"Arrest them."

"Who? The android, the magic chick, the super soldier, the world's best assassin, and the flying man? With what legs?"

"Earth just lost her best defender." I do like this little thing. Steve never lost respect for Tony, and the tidbits in Spiderman - you hear that Tony was still taking care of 'Cap's Shield' - shows that Tony still respected Cap. They may no longer have been on the same TEAM, but they were always on the same SIDE.

I'm proud that Rhodey reject Ross' order of arresting the Avengers.

Cap was a straight SAVAGE in this movie. This moment in this movie was so Savage for Steve

The fact that Steve and Tony are in a bad spot... and for Steve to say Tony’s Earths best defender says a lot about Captain Rogers.

1:03 "That's a courtmartial." Damn, I love how Rhodey basically gave up his military career because he understood that what was coming was bigger than both his personal conflicts with Team Cap *and* their conflicts with the government that he serves. A brave, wise man! ❤

The fact that captain america, one of America's most wanted, shows up at a government facility tells us he understood the world was about end and it didnt matter what Ross could do to him after Thanos declared universal genocide. Just like those accords are going to be useless after avengers 4.

Steve Rogers, the OG Avenger. One phone call and he shows up ready to fight. #TeamCap for life.

THIS is exactly why I love the MCU. There is such genuinely great story and character development. Cap telling Ross to piss off after all the crap he put him and the other Avengers through in Civil War made this scene ultra satisfying. And it shows that in the face of Universal Armageddon, Ross' threats and the Sokovia Accords mean very little now.

I love the way Cap looks at Rhodey when he sides with them. He knows that decision meant a lot. Rhodey devoted his life to the military. Rhodey agrees there needs to be oversight, but when it came down to it, that disagreement wasn't worth losing his friends and losing his legs.

I'm going to miss Chris Evans as Captain America!

Guess who's back??? Chris Evans baby...

Can we talk about how this scene is shot and framed for a minute? Notice how Cap is coming in from the shadows like he is hidden but as Ross speaks to him there is more light on him because he is the "light" of the team. And notice how Ross is shot in a way that he is looking up at Cap, showing that he is inferior to him. And notice how Rhodey just pushes Ross aside as if he doesn't really matter. Ugh this movie is so wonderful in both the comic book nerd in me and director in me.

"The world is on fire, and you think all is forgiven?"
"Mr. Secretary, your forgiveness is the LEAST of my worries right now."

This proves precisely how useless the Accords were. They were only meant for the governments, specifically Ross’ agendas. Thanos is coming to earth and rather than face off the real threat and save the world, Ross wants the Avengers who are Anti-Accords arrested. This movie shows exactly how in the aftermath, no one on the team even agrees with the Accords. Even Tony doesn’t, he only did it out of guilt. Steve was right not signing those Accords.

Edit: And after seeing Endgame, I still stand my ground. Although I do respect Tony trying to make amends in Civil War, I still believe the Sokovia Accords weren’t the way to go.

Ross will probably be one of the humans pointing their fingers to the Avengers and saying "You didn't protect the earth. Arrest them!"

*Short answer:* War Machine/Rohdes was legally right to ignore the order.

*Long answer:* Colonel James Rhodes was correct in not following Secretary of State’s order, because he is not in the military chain of command, violated the 4th Amendment on its face, and was based on a treaty or enabling laws that violated the United States Constitution. Colonel Rhodes took an oath to upload and defend the Constitution, not desecrate it.

*"I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking for permission."*

It's a shame that Cap didn't have as much screen time in Infinty War, but this line is still one of his best quotes. Libertarian Cap is the best Cap.
