Then in 1591 the invasion of Moroccan Islamist's
saw the decline and end of Timbuktu as a bastion of knowledge.
Following the invasion, many scholars were exiled or killed due to accusations of disloyalty to the new rulers. This loss of intellectual capital severely impacted the educational landscape of Timbuktu. Notable scholars like Ahmad Baba were forced into exile, which further eroded the city’s reputation as a center of learning.

Feeling like I have been lied to by education system and onwards, .this is not taught in school, in fact I remember Timbuktu being referred to like it it was in the middle of nowhere with nothing there. Fascinating stuff!

Our brilliance still is visible. That computer & GPS came from African descendants who live in America. We still contribute to this world. Never underestimate our intelligence ever.

And guess who stole and destroyed the library?

The same group of people who did the same wherever they went.

We don't hear about this in Saudi Arabia or other Islamic countries at that time. 🤔 Hmmm???

Most people dont know that Arabic is an original African language

The problem is that most of the manuscripts haven't been translated and been made accessible on the web. So we're in a situation where we know they made a lot of contributions to the world, but we don't know the extent of it.

Great short coverage king bravo. You forgot to mention incibidi, one of the most popular african language at the time spoken by many aside from Arabic.

Oh yes, Timbuktu! I remember being so intrigued and proud when I first learned about Timbuktu and the great University! So happy some of the manuscripts were saved and hopefully preserved.

If you create stylish AI artful images Black Kemet Egyptian t-shirts I bet you’ll get a design that will blow up. Years ago I sold a ridiculous amount of t-shirts online of random sketches, images. I once sold 1000 tees of a drawing of a bicycle. A friend sales tees with big game cats, lions, tigers, cheetahs, jaguars on them for the past 15 years.

Timings are a bit off.... the Islamic golden age was terminated a few hundred years before the great flowering of Timbuktu.

It was the ORIGINAL CENTER OF INTELLIGENCE GLOBALLY they came from all over the world to learn there. Then after these European countries drained all the knowledge & riches they could. They made a Joke about the name. Typical Saltine behavior

That is great. You just forgot to mention how mali has been of the biggest african center of slavery since the time of the roman empire and who knows when. Riches do not fall from the sky.
