WHY I HATE VE CB-70 RACK

Hey everyone in this video I "review" all of my racks, and outline the single reason why I HATE my Vivarium Electronics CB-70 rack. In addition to that, I'm playing around with a new editor so let me know what you think of the few editing tricks that I did.

My Cserpents rack the probe mounts to the side of the rack closer to the wall in the space that doesn't actually get touched by the tub due to the tub walls being mildly sloped. Pretty easy fix & I'm sure would fix your issue as well. Wrap some Teflon tape around those screws that didn't cinch down. should be able to retighten then.

I believe the retooled the thermostat probe slot on the new “super” VE 70 rack....it’s just a little wider to accommodate their 45qt tub but still fits the 41 along with a new probe slot where the probe tip sits underneath the actual heat tape to prevent probe movement.

Dont feel bad Justin, I'm 6'2" and I cant reach the back of my 41qt tub rack, lmao. Tape it down with some A.C. foil tape, it will stay longer. But still keep an eye on it👍👍

Set the probe under the heat tape and you won’t have that issue and it will work great

Don't they suggested using metal tape and taping it down to the heat tape?

I know, old video but I was wondering if the situation continues? I believe you can use HVAC tape to hold the probe down in place. I know now the new ones, the probe goes under the heat tape. So it never touches the tubs

I have the same rack system. Just yesterday I woke up from a plastic burning smell. I opened the bottom tub and there was a huge hole. Thankfully my snake was okay. The temperatures I feel are very different in each tub too...I'm so annoyed with it! Lol. Nice look, but terrible heat system.

You know the rack wont be trash if the screws strip the plastic? You can just make new holes.
Also u could move the prob to the side of the tub, I mean it can be on the shelf and heat tape still but between the side wall and the tub so the tub doesnt come in contact with the probe. You should be temping the I side of the tub to get your temps right since the prob is outside of the tub anyway so u will just need to make adjustments to the temp after moving the prob.

But if you think the rack is trash after u get your new ars rack to replace it I will gladly take it off your hands and pay shipping for the rack and tubs

Hey man good to see ya. I work a heck of a lot and dont really get much of a chance to watch videos. But this just popped up as I sat down.lol Now as for the racks.I agree man they all are nice but when looking for a rack people need to buy it to save time. I just ordered some ARS racks because Im sick of how hard and long it takes to deep clean and keeping temps right.

I kinda like my VE- CB 70 racks. Are they the best nope but for a small collection they serve a perpous I have been lucky that my probe doesnt get stuck when opening and shutting the tubs..
