The dance of the dragons saw many legendary and bloody battles that would forever have there place in the history of westeros by maybe one of the most bloody was indeed the horrific battle and sack of tumbleton.The Hightower host moved in around the town of Tumbleton, so few days away from Kings Landing. The battle would be a bloody one with The Dragonseeds on one side and Prince Daeron the other. There would be fire and blood. This battle would be key for both Aegon and his greens and Rhaenyra and her blacks. If the town should fall then kings landing would be next.

The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. So if you want to learn the story before we see HBO's take on it then this will be a very long-running series. Ulf and Hugh were just the worst. They didn’t intervene in time to save one of the most important Green lords, they betrayed the Blacks when Westeros may have been a few battles away from peace, and they pointlessly set the entire town ablaze in an act that horrified even the Greens. It’s hard to think how the dragons that once bore the Old King and the Good Queen chose these idiots out of all the dragonseeds.

Having read Fire and Blood, I do believe this was Roddy The Ruin’s peak moment.
I try to imagine the looks of horror and shock on Lord Ormund and Ser Bryndon’s faces seeing a battle hardened, bloody Northerner charging you in a suicide attack. Priceless, I’d say lol.🛡️

Ulf and Hugh’s betrayal certainly ensured the extinction of the dragons. Had they not betrayed rhaenyra, she’d likely have won, and would have had dragons left, and all she’d have to do is kill these treacherous idiots and the dragons would be ready for one of her children to claim later had she had more. Poor Adam died proving his loyalty to rhaenyra. What a guy. I completely misremembered the battles of tumbleton though

From the show perspective, I think Ulfe is gonna be a drunk opportunist who’ll soon test the limits on either side of the crown to see how far his ambition can take him. As for Hugh I think he’ll lose his family and be pushed to a point of desperation and resentment eventually to apathy towards either the greens or blacks resulting in both atrocities and betrayal.

Rhaenyra's first and only mistake was that she didn't let Daemon to be commander of blacks, his original plan to surround Kings Landing from all sides and mount all green heads on spikes would last few days tops, without this bloodshed, specially twice at Tumbelstone

Vermithor and Silverwing were Jaeherys and Alysanne's dragons. It's sad that they died due to two incompetent and traitorous bastards.

This was horrific but Battle of the Redgrass Field was tragic Daemon Blackfyre killed after making sure that knight he fought was treated with respect and taken off the battlefield and for this he and his sons were filled with arrows and the battle was lost not to mention loyal Sir Quentyn Fireball was assassinated right before the battle .

I think ulf switches sides because he's greedy and lusts for power and wealth. I think Hugh changes sides because he was likely pushed away by Rhaenyras paranoia, terrible leadership and ungratefulness so he decides to become king himself.
