I love that you demonstrated by painting a person of colour. I've seen so many videos on watercolour portraits and skin tones and they all focus almost entirely on white/Caucasian and other light skin tones.
I'm super pale and live in a really white community, so I need all the help I can get learning to paint diverse portraits.

She seems so real! I mean like she’s about to come right off the page and thank the artist for giving her life.

I love the combination of loose hair, splatters and the super detailed face. I have a hard time with building up face layers. Halfway through there is always this ugly stage where it feels like you are failing so hard. Sometimes after a couple more layers and details it looks amazing, but not giving up in the middle or stopping while it's too light/not enough contrast can be a challenge!

KIRSTY. I also love that you featured a painting of a subject with melanin. It's so hard to find content/tutorials for brown and darker skintones who also have 'green/gold'/red/purple/blue undertones. There's only how-to's for olive/pink/cream tones with the undertone variation. That's great and everything but having an abundance of tuts for subjects with more melanin is so....needed. This piece is so so so beautiful.

My biggest takeaway was to paint in all the skin first using the wet-in-wet technique. And also that it’s okay to mix styles. And to use colored pencil at the end. So many good tips!

I just love your voice, the way you pronounce and your choice of words. As a non-native English speaker I'm really happy to listen something so easy to understand. And also appreciate the content. You are skilled in both making Art and teaching.

So I have a very huge crush on this boy. I've been making him a portrait, just drawing using a regular pencil you can buy literally everywhere, it's (2). I asked him if he wants me to make him a portrait but this time, it's painted. He said "I'd put in a frame." I'm colour blind and I fckn hate water colour because of an incident in my 5th grade but now I have to love it. That's the story and why I'm here.

All your tips ere wonderful but the ones I found most useful were when you told us when to do the wet in wet method and when to use wet on dry .One of the BEST and well explained presentations I have heard . Thanks
