Something even more impressive about the sims language? They also regionalize it. A copy of the sims in English will sound different that a copy in Japanese or Spanish. Simlish is built in such a way that it uses all the structures of the local language, but none of the words, making the flow of similsh feel real.

Legend has it, the makers of RDR2 used motion capture to create those realistic cougars in the game. A total of 78 people died attaching the reference markers. :(

I really love how Mortal Kombat and the original prince of Persia created unique movement and character style when controlling the game. For classic games, they did really well. Good physics and responsive effects with-in games are some of the best aspects of playing video games. Just going around messing with the environment, or seeing what effect you inflict onto other characters with in the game is such a fun thing to do. We need more physics sandbox type games.

Human models have developed so much that I couldn't differentiate easily who's a game character and a real person in this video.

Talking about the original Prince of Persia, back in the early 80's I remember playing a game called Aztec on an Apple-IIe. It was an Indiana Jones styled character complete with hat & whip. This was a side scrolling game with stairs leading to lower levels. where you had to find the idol and escape the temple. I remember pit traps, closing walls that would squish you, cobras and Aztec Indians that were out to kill you. The whip was usable and the pistol that you could sometimes find had a round counter, so you had to find more ammo for it if you ran out.

I actually remember being really impressed with the horseriding (and just the horses in general) in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when I first played it. It really felt like Link was an actual person, sitting on an actual horse

Stray is so impressive for so many reasons.

For those wondering, you really can't use Mo-Cap on a cat. If you ever tried to put anything on a cat - you would know that it completely changes their pattern of movement, which makes the data collected worthless. They would try to shake it off, or even go backwards if something is around their torso. It takes the cat DAYS to get used to wearing any item. And we know that because we can observe cats after surgeries or in other situations when putting a piece of clothing on them is unavoidable.

I remembered on Stranger Things that they had to remove the dog on the show because it's hard to work with. Just imagine having a dog to do motion capture.. That's literally a pain in the arse

Fun fact: to create the noises of people dying in borderlands (particularly 3) they would just spill a bucket of uncooked chicken on sand
