I make just over $40k a year. Not much for sure. I owe $9, 000 on my car. After that is paid off, I will be completely debt free from any bill I can possibly pay off. Trust me. Without debt, $40k will kind of feel like I'm rich. No kids, no credit cards... basically a small rent bill, phone, food and gas. A large percentage of my pay will be mine to do whatever I wish with (invest). I know people who make 3 times what I do and are more broke than I am because they are slaves to debt. That's no kind of life to live.

Just taking a moment to appreciate the way Dave worded the question about his wife - "did she work outside the home?" I appreciate the recognition that the caller's wife may not have been in paid employment but she was contributing by her efforts within the home. And her husband did an amazing job in making sure they both had a secure financial future to enjoy

"Its not how much you make, its how much you keep." Prime example of this saying. You are an inspiration to the American dream Dale. ✨️

This is what so many people need to hear. This man understands that delayed gratification generally leads to greater gratification! I have so much more respect for him than for people who earn a great deal more but save nothing.

I’m 26 with 13k in 401k, 50k in stocks, and 70k equity in my home. I also make mid 40s a year. Hopefully 40 years from now I’ll be just like Dale!

Kind of on the same boat. Im currently in the active army, ive got 2 car payments (equate to about 20, 000 total), about 4000 in credit card debt. And im making just over 43k a year. I am going overseas in a couple months and im projected to make a little over 80, 000. So my plan is to attack my debt hard, completley paying it all off. And save the rest. With the money i save, im going to put it into a house when i come back. I plan on doing 6 more years of the military since im doing college at the moment. Im hoping in those 6 years, through bonuses, and overseas tours i can pay off that house (assuming its my only payment), once i get out, use said house as a rental property, and move back to California with my family ideally debt free, house paid off, degree in hand.

Thank you Dave. These videos are so inspiring. It’s always great to see people who don’t make that much money per year be worth more then people who make well over 100k a year.

I just found this channel and this is I’m 31 and my advice to the younger people, save your money, try to pay down your student debt ASAP, DO NOT GET A CAR PAYMENT, it’s an unnecessary debt. And
