Sounds like they don’t want their homes inspected

If you can't take it for a test drive, or look under the hood, don't buy it.

No destructive testing: No testing the electrical panel or filling the bathtub.

HOLY SH*T

I would never use a builder that won’t let me check their work. That’s crazy! Plus their list is a roadmap to their mistakes and it’s a scary one.

You have some free press.
Local news sources covered your hearing.
From the buyer's perspective you're doing great work! Keep sheding light into the darkness sir.✊️

Can't operate any appliances, can't access the attic, etc.... in other words, you're not allowed to look at any of the things they know they don't meet standards on. Shady and gross.

I love that their definition of “destructive testing” is factually incorrect.

I had a KB. I took photos during the construction and shared with the building inspector. They were not happy. And I did catch them try to bury flaws inside walls behind the drywall.

This is why it's important to read the contract before signing.

I built my home in 1983, apart from foundations and plumbing roughing I did everything. Now I'm 74 and can't do much physical work. When I need any repair work or renovations I get a qualified tradesman and I stick around observing. Many told me they have learned things from me and some have unlearned bad habits acquired during their career. They get a fat tip from me and are always eager to come back.

Any builder puts any restriction on an inspection…the deal is done right there and then

BOEING IS PROOF INSPECTION IS VERY IMPORTANT, NOT JUST AT THE END BUT THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS!

I wouldn't use a builder that wasn't willing to have their work fully inspected. They are hiding something

I've had two homes built in my long lifetime I would never ever buy a home from KB homes now thank you very much.

Thanks for putting this out. As a homeowner, I wouldnt consider my home inspected if the inspection was limited to what you can see without leaving the ground. As someone whos sold a home before, I am glad that we dont have this nonsense and the person buyind from me could fully investigate all aspects of what he intends to purchase before committing.

How are builders legally allowed to restrict an inspection before close?

Just a heads up, we didn't know about KB homes at first (8 years ago they were a decent builder where we were). Now, banks are asking who the builder is and we only found out about how bad KB was after we were denied 3 times by 3 different lenders for 3 different properties (even one 3 years old) specifically because it was built by KB Homes. We then found all this out, and it is how I found your channel.

So their bad building and sale practices are causing even banks to not want to lend. That is why they push so hard with their own preferred lender.

Fast forward to today, we are in Las Vegas. I have no idea who to even buy a home from. Even if the market crashes and prices come down. None seem to be able to be trusted at all.

Lennar has told my inspectors they aren’t allowed in the attic. Very concerning

I had my new home inspected before closing. Showed up at the end. Inspector went over everything and said he was very impressed. Builder wanted inspection and corrected the few issues. Had a couple of issues a couple of months letter. Gate stuck etc. builder gave a list if all subcontractors. I called 3. All 3 came out the next day and fixed issues and the plumber even changed out a bathroom faucet for me to do water changes on fish tanks. I’d bought the faucet. Same as others in house except round opening for water to come out verses others that are rectangle. Wouldn’t take a penny for the labor. Took him 30 minutes. Love my new house. Next door neighbor was a contractor and he said he’s watched these houses being built and very impressed with the work. Sold me …. And I’ve looked at the others in the area that are being built now and all the same quality…. Very very good!
