The “vibe” in this instance is the ability to be a professional and be easy to work with. Which seems like it would be easy, but it’s surprisingly hard to come by in people.

I will forever be impressed how they can get like 50+ people together and not an example of pettiness or jealousy that I can remember, at least in a surface level.

It is clear that they have been screening for certain personalities, people that would fit the work culture there. It's been like this for years

"The No Asshole Rule"

Is a book, from the early 2000s, that describes this exact phenomenon. It's a short and interesting read.

I remember Fauna saying that she passed the audition on the first try. It made sense back then, but seeing as how a vibe check is one of the main deciding factors it makes even more sense that they'd want to hire such a soft spoken and chill person

This is one of the reasons why I really love Hololive so much, the talents not only have great personalities on stream, but, and I think a lot of people notice this too, they also seem to have that great personality when the cameras are off, and that's wonderful 😊

I always thought it was like this, quality control and a teamwork mentality. Calli just comfirms it.

Beyond just the ability to be professional, everyone in HoloEN seems to have an attitude of "all other members are so talented, I need to work hard to measure up" even when they themselves are also talented. I think that's a healthier outlook than jealousy or direct competitiveness.

this makes so much sense, i've seen many smaller agencies and indie vtubers basically collapse because of this single factor in picking talents.

This is an interesting way for Calli to basically confirm that they don't have the kind of internal drama that a certain other company has. I'm not a gullible fool to think that every single girl in HoloEN absolutely loves every other girl, but at the very least they don't cause trouble and conflict with each other.

I feel like this has always been one of Holo's biggest strengths, and a big reason for that very specific vibe that people find so appealing. You always get the sense that everyone is supporting each other and gets along. Which I'm sure isn't _quite_ true behind the scenes, everyone has colleagues they get along with better than others after all, but it's remarkable how rare it is for any drama to spill out in public, compared to other streamers, whether indy or corpo. I can think of like 1 instance of public drama between members in the 4-5 years I've followed Holo.

I'm glad that there's that professionalism. I think most people will understand that it's possible that some people may not get along with others at work; they can both be fine people, but some personalities just don't vibe with each other. But what seems clear at Hololive is that every member RESPECTS each other. Without respect, small issues can become major ones really quickly.

They understand that this pettiness is what got many other agencies in trouble, themselves included at some point. I remember Calli reminiscing when they first started, the management told them "out of thousands of applicants in the world, we picked you." The pressure to make it, and seeing them now is a true story of success.

It really does make sense from a business perspective. When you have a team of public performers as your primary product and method of income, group harmony is an absolute necessity. People who are prone to jealousy, pettiness, does a lot of shit-posting, is a drama queen, or engages in office politics (would jeopardize other people's well-being and careers for a promotion) would destroy any business in the vTuber industry from the inside out.

I think it resonates a lot with what she said about her song Overkill, that a lot of people see these entertainers as if they were in a competition against each other, but in reality, they support and care about each other. It makes sense that management selected people who resonated with that sentiment from the beginning.

I would say it's more than just "vibe", as important as that may be. An innate desire to avoid strife, a strong sense of empathy towards others. Or just lovin' the culture and wanting to add to it. And definitely no fostering ideas of "heiarchy" - the only concept of such being Senpai and Kouhai, but that's adhered to more playfully. This way there's room for all kinds of personality but without the drama that can arise from selfish ambitions.

Mori: No pettiness allowed!
Cecilia: And I took that personally.
Lol love you Ceci!

Be like Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage from the Mythbusters. Their personalities clash too much for them to be friends off set, but they respect what each other brings to their work and can get along fine on screen.

You're telling me that Hololive isn't going to hire those Vtubers who are constantly making callout posts and getting into Twitter fights? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!
