I live in London in zone 4. I have been paid various amounts in my career and since 3 years ago my pay has jumped from around 50k to 6 figures. I would say 50k would have been ok if interests rates and rents were low like over a year ago but today I'd say 60k-70k is more comfortable. 50k you still got to look at the grocery prices and be careful, 70k you look less at the prices and at 6 figures you think about buffet everyday.

I'm on 75k a year……i wanted 80k and the woman on the phone said ‘yh that's fine’ then in the actual interviews woman said we can do 75k plus 5k in benefits at that time contract roles were hybrid and I wanted. Remote I didn't even realise the job was remote

Interesting to see you discounted student loan repayments where i would assume most people would have left over student debt from the new fees

This is very good. Like Dave Ramsey always says he has worked with people who earn 30k a year and they are brill with money and others that earn 100k a Year and they literally do not have a penny to their name and are in massive debt. You can live comfortably if you resist the temptations to keep up with the Joneses. Its difficult though and there's many other variables.
