I have it on my 2022 Tacoma long bed sport and god it’s perfect. It’s got some good sound but not obnoxious. My truck has some wheels and has dark tint. It’s super simple and I didn’t want too much attention. Very high quality and it was a little expensive but knowing I got something from USA I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Borla. I always recommend it to all my friends since they now hear it on my taco lol.

I just installed the S TypeCat Back exhaust on my 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR 2.7 4X4, I had to order the extension pipe that is used on the 140 inch wheel base Tacoma because the 2.7 the catalytic converter does not go as far back as the Y pipe on the V6. The extension pipe is the perfect size to complete the connection to the muffler. I also had to install longer rubber isolators on the hangers from the front of the catalytic converter all the way back to the tail pipe, this gives the clearance for the pipe that bolts to the catalytic converter with the bend in it so it does not contact the cross member where the drive shaft bearing bolts to.

All Borla would have to do is make the pipe longer that bolts to the catalytic converter so the bend would clear the cross member like the V6 does and this would be a bolt on system and you would not have to use longer rubber isolators for the hangers.

The 2.7 feels stronger and has more power after installing this Borla Cat Back Exhaust with the extension pipe. WIth the stock muffler it felt like it was choked up and after installing the Borla Cat Back exhaust if feels like it is breathing easier now. The 2.7 also sounds great with the S Type Cat Back exhaust.

How about it Borla all that is needed is a longer pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler to move the bend in the pipe behind the cross member.

Borla performance industries I know that you guys say that it doesn’t drone at all. Does it though? Is there 0 drone at low speeds? 2500-3000 rpm? Trd pro exhaust doesn’t drone why should I choose the borla exhaust over the trd pro?

Seems good enough for the 3.5L V6. I’m a big Borla fan. They have the highest quality exhaust products out there. I’ve had both the S-Type and ATAK on an F-150 with the 5.0 V8, and currently have the ATAK on a 5.7L LS6 in a Z06 Corvette. This might not be a bad addition to my Tacoma. I generally feel that cat-back exhausts are a waste of money on any V6, but this doesn’t have a horrendous drone/yowl sound to it like most V6s that people are hoping will sound like a burly V8. Plus this is quiet enough that it won’t scare away deer, hogs, waterfowl, etc. when driving to a hunting site. Maybe.

why do all of the exhausts for the tacoma sound buzzy? you cant get a nice guteral v6 growl out of these engines? like a vq or j series?

I just bought one of these. Sounds stock. I plan on doing a cat delete and an air intake but if all ur doing is changing the muffler to borla it isnt worth it
