What Does it Mean to Be Blessed?

When something is blessed by a Catholic priest, it’s set apart for a holy purpose and is no longer merely a material thing.

That means if you are baptized Christian, you have been consecrated and elevated to a higher purpose.

Fr. Mike reminds us, to be holy is not to be perfect. Rather, it is to be blessed by God, and when God blesses something he sets it apart so it may more effectively do his will in this world.

So, be blessed.

Make God’s will present in the world through your presence.

funny that you brought up saint blaise. when i was 10 years old i had a lump in my throat. and i had difficulty swallowing. the priest blessed my throat on saint blaise day. 30 minutes later i was healed. fact!

Being blessed is so awesome!!!! Hey Bob I just heard about this prayer a few weeks ago it has helped me so much in practical ways, it goes like this: 'Oh Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything.' Say the prayer 3 times. I do it every day and in particular moments when something tricky pops up and I want to do God's will in something that I'm not sure what He wants. It's only been a few weeks but it really is amazing. It takes the stress and worry out of everything. This prayer comes from Divine Mercy Publications...
