Actually, one correction. Command blocks dont output when theyre used, they output if the command runs successfully, and if the statement is true and only to a comparator. The reason it happened in the video is because the button hard powered the block it was on(which happened to be the command block) and it activated the redstone

Additional facts: putting a chain command block in “conditional” mode will only run the command if the input command succeeded. /execute if (condition) will fail if the condition is not met, which can be used to trigger multiple commands off of one check
