i took my road test in eatontown too! i took it back in june and i had SO many lessons prior! it was my 5th try! i passed and i was so excited, i cried! i had a really nice driving examiner too! good luck to anyone having their test anytime soon!!

thanks for this post, I've been scared of driving my whole life and I have been working really hard to be able to overcome this fear. it really helps to see how they will instruct me along the path because I've been very nervous about not knowing what to do. I often ask for clarification when I am practicing and It was nice to see that they will repeat it if I ask. I have my test in two weeks and I really hope I pass on the first try!!! good luck to anyone in a similar situation !

update: I passed on the first try!! my instructor was really nice and patient with me as I was very nervous— got my license and a car recently … kinda crazy!!! good luck to u all

I took mine in Edison on Kilmer today and I passed. Bc of nearby construction, you don’t do the road part. Just parallel parking and a k-turn or a k-turn and parallel parking. Only took 5 mins and I passed. Make sure you’re checking your mirrors, looking behind when reversing, and doing hand over hand. Also make sure to keep your hands on the wheel at all times. You got this!

48 hours from now, I’ll be taking my road test at Bakers Basin. Even though I’ve practiced it multiple times, I’m still 100% intimidated by the parallel portion…. Fortunately, I’ll be going with my instructor to go over it again an hour before the test, so that makes me feel a bit better, but fingers crossed that I pass! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Watching this cause my siblings are taking it today. This is so much easier than NY, at least in NJ you do it in a close circuit but in NY you take this test in the streets with oncoming traffic… I’ll never forget when a garbage truck got in my way on my first left turn and took up both lanes had me question my driving abilities hahaha, luckily passed the test first time around. Good times! 😅

Update: I passed! The test took less than 10 minutes. They had their own course set up, but went on the Main road for 15 seconds. They didn’t even make me back up straight like in here. Just parallel parked and then k turned out of the spot. The parking spot was extremely long and they had poles sticking out of the cones. They also made me do lane changing within the course, so there was basically no traffic. Super easy, good luck out there!!
