Street photography is personal

I was shooting in the city the other day and this man I met starts telling me I really need to get a prime 50 lens because 'that's the only way to shoot street photography' I smiled and said I was going to stick to my 50-200 :)

that's the thing they take it as a personal attack on themselves. for me i love street photography becuase it does have a lot of myself in it but most of all because if I feel something or enjoy something I'm taking a picture of then I know/hope it connects to someone else

I think it’s not only for street photography even in landscape there’s rules or « what you should do » the most important it’s to make photography that are important for ourselves.

There is no format or ‘perfect composition vantage point’ for street. I think it’s all in the moment and split second that you release the shutter when you see a shot, that creates the stills in time that will never be repeated
