Thank you very much, this has really helped in my science work to a point where my teacher set this as the homework to watch! Thanks again

nichrome wire is used as the heating element for things like hairdryers, fan heaters and toasters, thanks for the demonstration :)

I want to duplicate this in my class but I have some questions: 1. Could you please give the details on the conductor used such as size, is this copper or aluminum, 2. Can I use two 1.5 volts batteries instead

I am trying to determine the resistance of 500 feet of AWG #8 TW copper cable using a 1.5 V battery and a cheap multimeter. I get about 1.25 amps which divided into 1.5 V gives 1.2 Ohms. Is this a reasonable approach? Do I have to subtract the resistance of the battery? The spec on the wire is about 0.3 Ohms for 500 feet. There is no evidence of damage to the wire or its insulation. The copper is clean.

If we give 100 persent power to a moter .
how much persent will get losses in heat and resistance out of 100 how much

a ruler is wood, how are you measuring resistance along a wire by going on a ruler.. where is the wire?
