When I installed the goku mod he only shows up in the main menu and not a playable character

ok so i tried to do this and i was following every step including downloading the Sniper mod but i couldn't find the modded character in the character selection. Do i have to unlock all the characters or something like that? (I just started the game)

Can someone help me? i choose goku and cavy story guy mods, goku apears in the main menu, but i cant find him to play, and the skin of cave story guy for comando works, but i cant give and recive damage

I have a question, how do you get more memory allowed for the game? my moded game runs out of memory even though my computer can allow it more memory, but it seems like there is a limit
