What no one ever mentions is this is a bad ending for the real Elliot. Dude is about to wake up and find out his love and childhood freiend is dead because of the actions he did

I liked how at the end when the Mastermind tears up it’s because Eliot tears up as well. This means that, even though he relinquished control to Eliot, he can still feel what he feels. He will always remain a part of him.

Thanks for being brief, Just what I was looking for

In my opinion the audience is meant to be the true Elliot. "His Friend" that he talks to. We are all observers while the mastermind takes control. We are Elliot.

I wish they focused on WhiteRoses machine for the ending. I thought the disassociative personality disorder stuff was a cool gimmick to move the show along, and the sexual assault discovery was pretty a heavy bomb shell to be dropped for sure, but I thought WhiteRoses machine was more interesting. They could have fleshed it out more and done a whole season about the aftermath of the machine with shit loads of drugs and craziness like in the first season.

so the real eliot wakes up to find that angela is dead and he took down deus group and airdropped everyone money, would be interesting to see an episode of how he cope with all these things

Started out as conspiracy fun. Writers changed directions and turned it into psychobabble.

The true ending of the show can't be told by anyone. We, the silent observers decide what happend by ourselves and is free to interpretation. In fact, the waking up scene is the only real thing we watched, the rest could be a oniric space.

My only question is, how did Darlene know it was the real Elliot at the very end? did she see something in him that she knew it was really him? Am I missing something?

can someone explain how/why the mastermind didn't know that he started fsociety, who trenton/mobley was or that darlene was his sister from season 1?

I still think to this day that the whole thing with Fsociety was mostly made up. Like Vega breaking his sould and revealing the truth about his father was real, but the whole Chinese superspy stuff was not. Because if we believe that all of this was happening and at the end E wakes up from the phyiscal trauma of the explosion and all the stuff he did, then to bring the truth to life, SamIsmael would have for a second, shown us a police or FBI outside of the E's room waiting for him to wake up. I watched this show twice and I think that what we were watching was episodes of reality mixed with what Mastermind WOULD Have done to keep E safe. E planted his father's good side to work with Mastermind because he wouldnt trust him too much. 2nd season with the whole prison freaked me out and it was one of the most amazing twitsts I have ever watched in anything. So my belief that E wakes up from a long coma or state of mind-vegetation where he physcially was there but not really till the last shot.

Eliot doesn't have a sister in the real world..."Darlene" isn't his sister

i dunno the ending kinda felt like it was trying to be a bit like twin peaks and kinda fell hard. i agree with the idea that someone as mentally ill as elliot can try to get rid of the evils of the world, but without evil there cannot be any good. the idea of distributing wealth towards the masses doesn't make sense logically either, as it would be a massive catastrophy for the world economy, the likes which we have never seen before. a lot of people see the mr robot ending as a happy ending, but I see it as horrific. sure if elliot didnt do the things he did creating f-society, at some point someone else will. the world is a stage and we need figureheads to lead, president or revelutionary, criminal or angelic. tldr: mr robot actual ending is a horror story, to a mentally ill person who is an unrealiable narrator; he might think he did some good but really he just about killed everyone and anyone.

So we still don't know which events actually happened in the real world. If the vigilante part of Elliot wasn't real that leaves which parts of the story to be actually real???
