How To Change Focus In Portrait Photos On iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Pro

1. Open a photo from your Gallery

2. Then tap on Edit in the top right corner

3. A focus icon will appear on the image in the form of a square

4. Tap on the area you wish to focus on.

5. Tap on Done to save your changes.

Can you change focus on a Live photo? I can edit the “Key Photo” in a Live photo, but it dims. If I can change the Focus to the new Key Photo, that would be wonderful!

Excellent! I believe this is only for the iPhone 15 PRO and PRO MAX though. BTW: you DON'T NEED to be in Portrait mode to do this. If you aren't in Portrait mode, you need to TAP on the screen to SELECT A FOCUS POINT before taking the shot, and that will automatically turn on a focal point FIRST. It took me a long time to figure this out, and there was little information available on the subject yet. This technique is called "Retrospective Focal Point." You would have to do this with EACH SHOT you take, so to ensure that RFP is active, it is safer to always leave your camera in Portrait Mode. This is the ONE feature that made me want to jump to the 15 Pro Max! Keep up the good work, and THANK YOU for this post!
