This song brings about immediate tears. My grandmother used to sing it to all of us when we were very young. She was the most faithful woman I've ever known. She taught me of God's love. She's been gone almost 40 year. I live in her house now. The very house where she taught me. I miss her so.

This was my mom's only song request for her funeral, "No matter what else you play, I want 'Why Me Lord' played at my funeral." So when she died, I downloaded the song from iTunes and a few other songs that reminded me of her and her faith and burned them onto a CD for the chapel to play during her funeral. It is a beautiful song and it makes me cry when I hear it, but it also brings back so many good memories of my mom too.
